Whose Story Appears First on Instagram?
An algorithm decides what stories appear right there, in your feed, based on which other stories you leave likes and comments on. Stories you actively engage with the most are what Instagram prioritizes.
So this means that if you like, comment, or watch someone's content often, their stories will probably be at the top of your feed, sources said, because when you first open the app, stories are ordered by your interaction patterns. If you have a habit of going through a person’s account, the story of that person will be the first you get. And this algorithm is supposed to do it for you by giving you more relevant content.
